Special Events

On Saturday, June 7th, Catskill Flies will be celebrating it's 10 year anniversary.  Hard to believe we've been in Roscoe that long.  This all day event will feature:

1.  A raffle for a top end Sage Rod-no purchase required.

2.  A free commemorative zinger

3. a FREE casting clinic held  by our FFF certified casting instructor who will help you with any problems you are encountering with your casting.  Clinic will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

4. Ed Van Put, the well-known Catskill River Historian and writer of 2 best selling books as well as numerous articles re:fishing will be in the shop from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. to personally enscribe his books.  What a perfect gift!

5.  FREE refreshments will be available throughout the day.

REEL FOR RECOVERY-anyone interested in volunteering their time teaching flyfishing (on the river) to men who are recovering or battling cancer should contact Stan Galub at 781-449-9029.  This event will again take place in September on the upper Beaverkill.  Each volunteer is placed with one participant so that both get the maximum experience.

Ed Van Putt, the writer of the book "The Beaverkill" has written a new book entitled "Trout Fishing in the Catskills"  The book was just published (this week) and we are probably the first shop to have the book in stock. Price is $60.00.  Each copy has been signed by Ed.  We have a limited supply which arrived this evening.  Mr. Van Putt has spent his entire life living and fishing in the Catskills and we look forward, along with you, to reading this publication.  Ed is a wonderful friend, a fine writer, a terrific fisherman, and has a wealth of knowledge.
